I have been interning with LoveLine Hotline for nearly a year and have been volunteering with them since 2021. I originally started their TikTok, and while I still run it, I have also branched out into their Instagram. Mostly, I repurpose TikToks for Instagram, but I have been working closely with my intern director recently to learn the Instagram graphics side of things.
LoveLine Hotline wants to reach women who are abortion vulnerable so they can help them choose life.
Here are a few reels I made for Instagram and TikTok recently.

This post did well because of the hook. It appealed to our target audience because women who are abortion vulnerable are scared the moment they see a positive pregnancy test. LoveLine wants them to see that despite that fear, something beautiful is on the other side. The video shows happy moments, and the text grabs viewers’ attention. The hashtags that are included are also strategic as women who are abortion vulnerable and receive a positive pregnancy test tend to search keywords like unplanned pregnancy and positive pregnancy test.

This post followed a trend where women share things they do that their children are too young to remember, but that they will always remember. It is a simple post, but it encourages other moms to get out and enjoy their motherhood even when their children won’t remember any of it. It shows the joys of motherhood that are special to just the mom. The hashtags on this post are also simple, but effective as they are top producing hashtags.

This post also followed a very popular trend with a very popular sound. It takes both some beauty and some mess of motherhood and brings it to a place of worship to Christ. This may be done subtly due to the trend, but since LoveLine is a Christian ministry, it is fitting. It doesn’t push religion, but still touches on it.

This post shows the beauty of the unplanned, even when it can be scary. A common phrase is that the best things in life are unplanned, which is shared in the caption because that goes for unplanned pregnancies as well. Using a trending sound on Instagram and a popular POV-style hook, this post displays to the target audience that there is beauty on the other side of their fear.
Strong hooks, visuals, captions, sounds, and hashtags are vital to the success of reels on Instagram, and that is what we are working hard on with LoveLine.
